Lil' miss T

Last night at 10:40 PM my cousin Tina gave birth to a healthy baby girl :-)

Her name is Tiana.

My cousin had a C-section so she will be in the hospital for about a week. Please keep her in your prayers, and thanks for all the prayers you've already sent out. And praise God for a healthy baby girl!

Away from the noise

To be alone with God, to be away from all the noise of our daily lives, the things that try to bring us down, the things that tire us out, the things that try to take our attention off Him, the things that we hear or see that test our faith and put thoughts of doubt in our minds. Away from the noise, to hear His voice. That’s where I want to be. And I can, whenever I pray I can be alone with Him, no matter where I am. As much noise as there might be around me, I can pray and meet with Him. Even if it seems like he isn’t right there, I know that He is. And even if it feels like no one is really listening, I KNOW He is.
In Jesus’ name.

A miracle...

For awhile, my pastor over here in AZ (Bro. Evans) has been pastoring two churches because his good friend, Bro. Pence has been struggling with kidney cancer. It's been a struggle for everyone as our pastor at one point was going to leave and take over the other church altogether. For awhile we thought we were going to get a new pastor, but I guess no one fit the bill. Our pastor stayed and continued to pastor both churches. The other church is almost two hours away, so him and his family commute every week back and forth. Also, we have been looking for a new church building, and had one in mind, but i'm not sure what happened with that because I wasn't here for awhile. (I was in California with my wonderful friends in Orange County!! :-D) Anywho, I just wanted to say that yesterday I found out that Bro. Pence has been COMPLETELY HEALED of the kidney cancer. Isn't that awesome!?! Praise God!! So I'm guessing that soon our pastor wont need to pastor the other church anymore and he can get some more sleep. Our pastors do so much, they are such wonderful men of God, and I appreciate them everyday. [i have to do my spanish homework now otherwise i'd write more.]

It's been awhile

For the longest time, I’ve had a passion for music. To watch musicians play their instruments with such knowledge and talent is so amazing to me. I get chills when I hear someone sing their heart out. It’s such a blessing to be surrounded by beautiful voices. It’s awesome to have people with such a passion for God and for the songs they sing unto Him in His honor. I love music. I love playing the guitar and the piano and the drums when I get the chance. For awhile I have been feeling an urge in my spirit to serve Him through music. I want to so bad. I know I need to get better and I am not very confident in the skill level I am at. I would love to honor Him through song. Through my day my spirits remain lifted if I have a song in my heart. No matter how bad I feel, almost every time, if I start singing in worship to God I just feel so much better. Or even if I just let some music play on my computer, it calms my nerves and makes me smile through whatever is ailing me. Today I woke up, not feeling so great because of a certain situation, which I won’t get into, but I was yanked from that when my friend (Sister) Olga suddenly gave me about a 10 minute warning to get ready for church. See, church starts at 4:00 PM, and it was 9:20 AM, so I thought it was okay that I was just lounging around in my PJ’s. I had no idea that we were going to another church that morning. We were going to Sis. Olga’s husband (Bro. Steve’s) dad’s church. Bro. Steve’s dad had a stroke not too long ago so Sis Olga and Bro. Steve help him out a lot. This was my first time visiting this church so I had no idea what awaited me there. The church is made up of about 15 people, more or less. When we went in, (Pastor) Bro. De La Torre’s wife, Sis. Mary asked Olga and I if we knew any new songs. I just thought she wanted us to show them to her. But noooo, next thing I know, I have a mic in my hand and Sis. Olga and I are singing one of my favorite worship songs. It was so awesome to have that opportunity to worship God like that. It was an amazing experience for me because really, I love to sing! And it was just such a blessing to be able to sing a song that I love, in His house, for Him and His people. We sang the rest of the songs for the service and had an awesome time in the Lord. Hehe. Praise God.

Away, away from the noise
Alone with you
Away, away to hear your voice
To meet with you
Nothing else matters
My one desire is…

To worship you I live, to worship you I live, I live to worship you.
OhhhOhhOhOhhh

Away, away from the noise
Alone with you
Away, away to hear your voice
To meet with you
It’s been awhile
But hear my heart cry again:

To worship you I live, to worship you I live, I live to worship you.
OhhhOhhOhOhhh

San Diego

Yesterday Jose didn't have to go work or school so we went to San Diego for the day. I wanted to see some new beaches, since one of my goals in life is to visit as many different beaches as possible. :-P We spent the majority of the day near the ocean. I think we were at Mission Beach, or Bay. We walked on a pier and climbed around on a jetty. When we were exploring these weird rock things, I managed to slip and fall right into a small pool of water. After laughing hysterically at me, Jose fell too. Haha, sucker. lol j/k

Anywho, after watching a cool sunset on some cliffs next to the ocean, we went to downtown San Diego in search of a Starbucks. (Jose got a $50 dollar gift card from his family for Christmas) Lucky! 50 dollars! Actually its not that much when it comes to Starbucks, especially since he has to buy me one too whenever we go. haha. No I'm kidding, we usually share one. We found a Starbucks in the coolest mall i've ever been to. For reals, it was cool.
We both got free calenders and I got a free Sonic the Hedgehog plush from EB games. Yes! I love Sonic!

Gimme some talkin' 'bout...

...cuz that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! (only Jose and my bro hnow what I'm talkin' 'bout.)

A new year, new beginnings. I guess saying Happy New Year is a good way to start a new blog, yeah? I think the new year started off pretty well with a big Scrabble victory. I spent the night eating pizza and playing my favorite board game with some cool peeps. Mad love to my peeps. haha =P
I haven't played Scrabble in a long time so I felt pretty rusty despite a fairly well played game. I remember just a few months ago playing Scrabble every day with my old roomate to the point where we'd stay up all night looking up definitions, studying two letter words, Q words and strategies. Let's "Scrabble out" we'd call it. We got to the point where each of us played at least one seven letter word each game and our scores went well into the 200's, occasionally breaking the 300 point. I even had Scrabble on my phone. Yeah. Then we stopped. Not living together anymore can do that. Anywho, looks like I may be playing a little more often again. I'm sure Philana wants me to show her how to be "inside the box" lol =)
